Home of the The Cock-Tail
Formerly the Bank of America building, this historic restaurant in downtown Truckee, California opened its doors as Bar of America in 1974 and has been operated under two ownerships until 2012. The casual, fun atmosphere of the bar has long provided a perfect alternative and compliment to the fine dining experience available in the connected restaurant.
In March of 2012, Bar of America joined the Gar Woods Grill & Pier and Riva Grill family of restaurants. In November 2014, Bar of America underwent extensive renovations and re-opened that December to rave reviews. In 2024, with the help of Jones Corda Construction, Bar of America acquired the business next door and seamlessly connected the spaces, adding another stunning dining room and enhanced kitchen facilities. For five decades, Bar of America has been a mainstay for Truckee nightlife. Synonymous with great live music, good food and plenty of free-flowing libations, Bar of America has provided a happy hour hangout and weekend watering hole for locals and visitors alike.
